What is the life expectancy of liver diseases?
Liver being a largest organ and one of the most essential organ for smooth functioning of body. Liver diseases don’t always show symptoms and complications vary from person to person depending upon the causative factor of the disease. Though, sometimes the only last option left in End stages of liver diseases is organ transplant but if an individual has been diagnosed timely then they can prefer natural management for getting the situation worse.
What is End Stage Liver Diseases or ESLD?
End stage liver diseases which is also termed as chronic liver failure is considered as chronic liver failure, is considered to be the result of Cirrhosis. Chronic liver failure generally leaves a person with the option of liver transplantation and is a viable choice at that time. What are the symptoms of Liver Cirrhosis?
In compensated liver cirrhosis, a person may not show any symptoms at all. But when the progression of Cirrhosis starts then person might show some of the symptoms like fatigue, weakness, nausea, sudden weight loss, severe abdominal pain, bloating, itchy skin, blood vessels which resembles to spider on the other hand decompensated cirrhosis may result in bleeding varices, ascites encephalopathy.
How is life expectancy measured in the end stages of liver diseases?
Normally, Cirrhosis is diagnosed by medical history, symptoms, physical examination and imaging. But the severity of Cirrhosis or End Stage liver diseases is proganosed by MELD (Model for end stage liver diseases) and Child Pugh Score. These both scoring systems are determined by specific clinical measures which are different for both scoring methods.
