ABSTRACT

Punctate inner choroidopathy is characterized by the inflammation of the vascular layer of the eye, i.e. choroid. It primarily affects young women with nearsightedness (Myopia). A person with Punctate inner choroidopathy may often develop blurred vision, blind spots, sudden flashes of light, sensitivity to light, floaters, peripheral vision loss, or distortion of vision.

Punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC) is an inflammatory condition that is presented with marked structural changes like punctuate lesion (Yellowish-white in color), multiple, round, and small without the presence of intraocular inflammation. It is a benign disease that can develop complications after one year of development. However, the visual prognosis is usually good. PIC involves both environmental factors as well as genetic predisposition.
