What is Pemphigus Vulgaris?

As Per Ayurveda Aspect

Pemphigus vulgaris is an immune deficiency disorder in which the body’s immune system becomes weak. In Ayurveda, immunity is correlated with Vyadhikshamatav which means the body’s energy has the ability to prevent infections or diseases. Vyadhikshamatav is made up of two words Vyadhi and Kshamatav, in which “vyadhi” refers to any physical or mental disease. There is the vitiation of basic elements i.e, dosha, dhatu and mala and “Kshamatav” refers to the protection of the body against infections.

As Per Modern Aspect

If any individual has an autoimmune disorder then the immune system affects the healthy cells and tissues of the body. Pemphigus is not contagious, not by blood, not by fluids and it’s not genetic.

Pemphigus vulgaris is an autoimmune disorder that affects the skin and the mucous membrane. The mortality rate of this disease is approx. 5 to 15%. The primary lesions are flaccid blister shaped that are filled with clear fluid that arises on the healthy skin or on an erythematous base.

Generally, the immune system produces proteins which are called antibodies. These antibodies attack harmful foreign substances such as viruses or bacteria. This disease mainly occurs due to the weak immune system in which the immune system mistakenly produces antibodies against proteins in healthy skin and mucous membranes. These antibodies break the bonds between the cells of the skin and form the blisters. The exact cause is unknown.
