How to Overcome Post-Betrayal Syndrome With Ayurveda?
Post-Betrayal Syndrome – Is the name new to you? Mayor may not but, it is guaranteed that the concept is very well known to all of us. Betrayal, what does it mean? It has different meanings as per the different situations in everyone’s life. Somewhere it is a breach of trust, faith, loyalty, contract, agreement, relation, and many more. In ancient times, betrayal was not so common, loyalty and trust had a really major part in people’s lives. People used to think many times before even planning for a betrayal or many times, they themselves apologize when done in any specific circumstances. Truth, respect, and loyalty were the three pillars on which the relations in the society were formed. These relations include creating a bond in a family, for a business, a marriage, friendship, or for any other purpose.
How it all started?
In the earlier times, registering complaints and taking each other to court was really a serious matter of concern and the settlements outside the court were always preferred by making people understand and clearing the misunderstandings if any. But, with the development of society, our moral values have lost somewhere in the race of competition and growth. Disloyalty, breaching trust, cheating, telling lies, deceiving is started to be normal. Somewhere, we started to ignore such things at the initial levels and let them be bigger by not taking any strict actions. This started in one generation at a very minor level, but then it started to be like a termite, the cause of society’s destruction from within.
What is the Current Situation?
Now after some decades of its initiation, it is so mixed in our lives that we can neither neglect it nor face it completely. These negative expressions of cheating, lie, betray have dominated the positives and truths in such a manner that now to live to be true and loyal seems punishment. So, whenever such an act happens there are two people, who one betrays and the other who gets betrayed. We are in a stage now that we cannot even think about the situation of the person who betrays, as there may be a lot of reasons behind that. Getting into that phase will become never-ending and we will get stuck in the vicious circle of the problem.
Is it Betrayal Syndrome?
So, coming to the other phase, to the person who gets betrayed, who faces the betrayal and suffers from it for a long period of time. That suffering after getting betrayed is what medically termed as Post-Betrayal Syndrome. It is not only a disease but a more severe and life-threatening issue. It affects the person’s body, his state of mind, heart, profession, job, life, career, relations, and everything around him. There are two different situations for persons suffering from Post Betrayal Syndrome.
One is in which the person starts to think about taking revenge and make the other person also go through some similar or more dangerous situation. It is the negative aspect that will not solve the problem, rather will increase it from one or two individuals to many and maybe the whole society. The second aspect is to stay positive and to transform and rebuild yourself by being more safe and secure and keeping a distance from those who did hurt you earlier. It should be a choice and it will not be easy but typical.
What Can be the Consequences?
The initial time period post betrayal is really much more difficult to live and move ahead. The situations, the memories, and the feelings keep roaming around us at every point in time. It takes time to understand the situation, whatever that has happened. We never had any idea of this coming at any time in our life. It never crossed our minds. Suddenly, from somewhere, a painful discovery strikes in our life and make it a life watering moment.
We start questioning ourselves about it silently, How did this happen? How did I not know? We become so alone that we do not know what to think, what to feel, what to do? The only thing that repeatedly comes to our mind is the life will never be the same again. We remain sad, hurt, and confused. Even the thought of transformation is too away from us, we mourn on the situation, the happening. We can stick there for months, years, or the whole life. But, will it be helpful? Is this we deserve?
There is a beautiful saying, “Forgive, not because the other person deserves it, but because you do.” It is difficult to forget the situation even it is not possible, but when we start to forgive the people responsible for it, whether it is some other person, or us. We take the first step towards our transformation.
Betrayal does not only result in heartbreak, but also have many physical, emotional, and mental symptoms. Due to these, it affects the profession, business, work, relationship, and above all our personal life. We frighten to trust again, to rely upon anyone even if it will help us to overcome the situation. We lose confidence. Stress, anxiety, pain, discomfort, insomnia, mood swings, irritation, exhaustion, low energy, lack of concentration, etc. become a major part of our life. So, what is next? Do we have to live with it for life?
Can We Overcome It?
Rebuilding is always a choice. For instance, when someone’s house is destroyed due to a natural calamity or a manual act, what does he do? He tries his best to rebuild it with all his strength and resources, but never give up without trying. The same thing, we need to do here. We have to let the trauma be a stepping stone for transformation. Everyone thinks of the negative consequences of Post-Betrayal Syndrome always as we have also discussed above but we will not leave it here. We will discuss more the positive results of this betrayal.
Has it Taught us Something?
The answer is Yes. After a betrayal, we have some lessons with us we have lost our previous routine and gotten some new plans and new ideas to start. Just think, if that betrayal has not happened then could you ever think to step out of that bond, that relationship, and to go away from that person whose real habit was not to accompany but to cheat you. If not now, then it will surely get revealed in the future that may affect you more severely and dangerously. So, it is not the time to blame yourself, your luck, or the universe but to trust yourself more, being self-confident, self-relied, and to strengthen your bond with the universal supreme energy.
God is everywhere if we believe; he is nowhere if we don’t
The biggest truth of life is it is never ours, we are here just to perform our actions with the best of our knowledge and experiences, which will either be an inspiration for the next generations to come or will die with us. Death is natural and is fixed. So, let us live before we die and perform our part in such a manner that will force the bad people to realize their mistakes and the good to be stronger against the evils. Let us collect all the positive energies within us and spread the same in our surroundings. When we get hurt, we experience it, we feel it, we live with it and know its consequences more than the others, who don’t. It literally explains that we can find a better solution for this problem as compared to those who have only listened to the stories. So, let us be the change and transformation that will not only help us to grow and heal but our surroundings too.
