Ayurvedic Treatment for Low Testosterone Level
Testosterone is the main male sex hormone and also occurs in women but in a very small quantity. What is Testosterone?

What is Bioavailable Testosterone?
Bioavailable testosterone is the form of testosterone which is used by the body. There are three forms of testosterone.
- One type is bonded with SHBG i.e. sex hormone-binding globulin. It is the most common type and makes up about 65%of total testosterone. It is not bioavailable.
- Second one is bonded to the protein albumin which makes up about 35 % of total testosterone. This form of testosterone is potentially bioavailable because it can be manipulated to get away from protein.
- The third type is free, which is not bonded to any protein. Free testosterone makes up about 2% of total testosterone. It is completely bioavailable and used by the body. Free testosterone circulates throughout the bloodstream and can adhere to the receptors in the brain, muscles, and other organs.
Testosterone plays a vital role in the growth of reproductive organs in male (prostate and testes). This hormone helps to increase bone density, muscle strength, production of sperm and sex drive.

What are the Causes of Low Testosterone Levels?

What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
Many people undergo Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) to restore testosterone level. The testosterone level reduces due to growing age or some medical ailment. This hormone therapy is generally prescribed to resist the outcomes of male hypogonadism. Hypogonadism is the gonads dysfunctioning involves testes or ovaries and results in a lack of sex hormones. This therapy increases testosterone but also produces side effects such as congestive heart attack and stroke.
