Abstract

White dog shaker syndrome is also known as generalized tremor syndrome or idiopathic cerebellitis. This syndrome is very common in small white dogs breed like west highland white terriers, Maltese, bichons and poodles. There is presence of tremors i.e. shaking of whole body and nystagmus (disturbed eye movements). It is stress related syndrome that causes in coordination and full body muscle tremors and rapid eye movements. Introduction

In white dog shaker syndrome there is inflammation of the cerebellum. Cerebellum helps in regulation of voluntary muscle movements so this syndrome is also known as idiopathic cerebellitis. In this syndrome there are whole body tremors, eye discomfort in the eye and impairment. The exact cause is not known but it may be hereditary disease.
