ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION

Palmaris Brevis is one of the muscles of the hand which is thin and quadrilateral in shape. This muscle lies over the ulnar canal and hypothenar eminence. Palmaris Brevis Spasm Syndrome is marked by spontaneous and involuntary contractions of the muscle Palmaris Brevis. The spasms that occur in this syndrome are spontaneous which can also be triggered by forceful movements with the requirement of hypothenar muscles. It has been put forward that the Palmaris Brevis Spasm Syndrome originates by injury to the ulnar nerves’s superficial branch particularly the fibers which innervates the Palmaris Brevis Muscle. DIAGNOSIS OF PALMARIS BREVIS SPASM SYNDROME

A physician typically rules out the reason behind the muscle spasm while considering the history of the patient’s physical examination as well as symptoms.
