Hypertension or high blood pressure plays a contributing role in most heart attacks and strokes. Blood pressure is a measurement of the force against the walls of arteries as the heart pumps blood through the body. Normal blood pressure is recorded, when the blood pressure is lower than 120/80 mmHg.
