The first-ever case of poikiloderma-like cutaneous amyloidosis was seen in Morishma from Japan in the year 1970. There are two poikiloderma-like cutaneous amyloidoses including the Acquired and Congenital types.
What signs and symptoms are seen in poikiloderma-like cutaneous amyloidosis?

- Diffused brownish pigmentation
- Hypopigmented papules
- Brownish scattered lichenoid papules
- Palms, oral mucosa, soles, nails, and genitals change color.
- Itching and crusting of the skin.
- Blisters all over the body.
What causes poikiloderma-like cutaneous amyloidosis?
Here are the causes that can lead to the disease including
- Infections like Lyme disease.
- Inflammatory causes like chronic graft versus host disease
- Connective tissue diseases like dermatomyositis and lupus erythematosus.
- Iatrogenic causes like radiotherapy or using drugs like corticosteroids or hydroxyurea.
- Environmental causes like solar radiation.
- Neoplastic causes large plaque parapsoriasis.
How can poikiloderma-like cutaneous amyloidosis be diagnosed?
